Ozotic - 504

I had this nail polish sent to my husband's hotel when he was in the US last week. His airline managed to misplace his bags and I had 48 hours of near panic, not knowing whether I'd get my hands on this beauty or be left wondering what it was like... But here it is and I can breathe again.

Ozotic is an Australian company but that's as much as I know about them. Ingredients? No idea! I didn't get high on fumes as I was painting my nails, so I take that as a good sign. I am hoping that a developed country like Australia will have rules in place, but I am not thinking too hard about it.

This nail varnish is pretty special: if you think duochromes are cool, you'll find this ice cold! It looks nice in artificial light, but the moment you go out into the daylight, your fingertips are suddenly dressed in rainbows. I can see blue, violet, coppery red, pink, orange and even a tad of gold on the tips. So hypnotic!

The formula is smooth but quite sheer. I initially applied three coats on a light base for opacity, but a couple of days later I followed the advice I found on several websites and layered it over black. It looks better and since it's not cheap I suppose you're saving a few coats here and there. I did find that the effect was more apparent without the black base, though.

After two days of wearing it I started noticing some tip wear. It was probably not enough for others to see but considering how unusual this product is, I wish it had more staying power.

Another thing that caught my eye is the way this nail varnish looks when in contact with water. I accidentally spotted this and had to show you the evidence. Magic!

I read this is called Twilight, but my bottle only has a number. The name would definitely be fitting, don't you think?

I have seen a few pictures online but hardly any of them do it justice; I hope I have successfully captured just how amazing this chameleon-like product is. Check out this short video so you can see it in motion.
